About Friendship Support Association

Who We Are

Established in 2007, Friendship Support Association (FSA) is an Ethiopian civil society organization serving pastoral and agro-pastoral communities with programs in health, water, peacebuilding, education, livelihoods, and gender equity.

We take pride in our community-first approach, grounded in deep local understanding and long-term presence in Afar and neighboring regions.

Vision

A future where pastoral and agro-pastoral communities are literate, healthy, peaceful, self-reliant, and productive.

Mission

To bridge critical gaps in information, resources, and technical skills, driving sustainable development and improving lives across Ethiopia’s pastoral regions.

Governance

• General Assembly (GA): Supreme governing body approving plans and policies annually.

• Board of Directors: Diverse professionals guiding strategy and oversight.

• Senior Leadership Team (SLT): Led by the Executive Director, ensuring operational excellence and accountability.

With offices in Addis Ababa, Samara, Awash 7 Kilo, Chifra, Aba’ala, and Gulina, our decentralized structure enables close community engagement.
